PROFILE OF THE NETWORK PROJECT FOR THE DISABLED (NPD)
The Network Project for the disabled (NPD) is a child of circumstances. On Sunday 25th October 1998 the Obafemi Awolowo University Muslim Graduates Association (Lagos Chapters) organised a public lecture with the theme "The Disabled in Our Society; Our Duties, Our Failings".
The lecture delivered to an eminent audience by Professor Taoheed Adedoja on 25th October 1998 convinced all present of the need for a programme.
The Network Project for the Disabled is a non-profit, charitable organisation committed to the "equalisation of opportunities" for people with physical disabilities. As the name suggests, the NPD is a networks of dedicaited professionals who are committed to using social mobilisation and legal advocacy as a tool for social change.
For now, and in the foreseeable future, the activities of the NPD shall be limited to:
1. Education and Empowerment
2. Research and Data Base Development (R&D)
3. Advocacy and Legislation (A&L)
